Norbriggs School is a Primary and Nursery School for children aged 3 to 11 living in the Mastin Moor/Woodthorpe area of Chesterfield in Derbyshire. Our school is a happy place where everyone can succeed. We hope you enjoy browsing around our site and see the fantastic things we’ve been doing.

Our school is set in extensive landscaped grounds with a large additional playing field and hard play area enabling a range of sporting activities to take place. We also have a garden play area which the children love.

Within the main school we have seven classrooms, a computer area, a large hall and the ‘Sunshine Room’.

A broad and balanced curriculum is provided for children in all year groups enabling each and every child to reach their full potential. Our curriculum follows the national guidelines set out in the National Curriculum for Primary Schools, the National Primary Strategy and the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. The curriculum is further enriched by a variety of clubs, trips and special events throughout the year.

There are approximately 215 children currently on the roll and these are divided by age into classes covering one year group wherever possible. In addition to a fully qualified teacher, each class has a trained Teaching Assistant assigned to them for at least part of each week.

The Nursery caters for 26 pupils in each session and currently only opens in the morning.

When children reach the age of 11 the majority of our children move to Netherthorpe School or Springwell School to start their secondary education.
